Sunshadows Current Breeding Stock
"The breeding of
Shepherd Dogs is the breeding of Working Dogs, and this must always be the aim,
or we shall cease to produce Shepherd Dogs."

Here at Sunshadows Registered German Shepherds, we've kept good structure firmly in mind, but we see the German Shepherd as primarily being a working dog who loves to earn his or her keep by boldly guarding the family and having work to do as a part of their lives.
Sunshadows has offered outstanding working German Shepherd Dogs for nearly 30 years. We strive to produce dogs with excellent working drives, pronounced temperament and structural soundness.
Puppies and young adults are from titled and proven bloodlines. All breeding stock is OFA or Western College of Veterinary Medicine certified for proper hip and elbow structure. Our breeding program has produced progeny which have excelled in Schutzhund with more than 80 titles we are aware of to date. Police Service Dogs from our kennel may be found in Vancouver, West Vancouver, New Westminster, Delta, Richmond, Washington State, Calgary, Edmonton, Medicine Hat, Saskatoon, Regina, Utah, Montreal, Charlottetown and Florida.
References are available. All dogs are sold with a guarantee that they will meet the expectations of their purchaser's needs and with guarantees for hips and elbow joint soundness.
Our dogs are not confined to kennels and spend their days loose on our 5.5 acre property. Our dogs grow up with each other, learning pack order and discipline within the pack dynamic. Puppies are born and raised in the house and even after moving to the outdoors, they come into the house each night for playtime.

We strive to socialize our puppies in as many situations as possible. Downtown excursions to the farmer's market, street fairs, Schutzhund demonstrations, visits to schools and obedience class, are all common experiences starting at a young age and continuing through their development.
