Our adult dogs are sold for $1,500  to $8,000.  Their structure is guaranteed to be up to the needs and standards for which they were purchased, whether it is for home and family protection, or as a working police or Schutzhund dog.  Purchasers have up to a 30 day assessment period to ensure that the dog they have selected is what they are looking for.  During that time, any dog may be returned, or replaced with another.  We strive to ensure that the dog you've purchased is the dog for the job, and want to generate happy Sunshadows dog owners.

Hi there , Thought I would forward some pics; a friend of mine took them and sent them to me.   I wanted you to see Timber,  he is growing like a weed and is such a handsome boy, beautiful color too . He is doing really well , couldn't be happier with him, a real sweetheart, Willow is being sooo patient with him and plays with him like you wouldn't believe.  She is such a good girl, you guys are breeding awesome dogs and we love them both. Thank you  so much.

Barry & Cathy,   July, 2009

Thought I'd drop you a quick note to let you know that our pup, Nash, is a SAR dog with CSDA (Canadian Search Dog Assn) Working with a different group earlier in the year, he completed his first European Training Mission where we worked on rubble piles in the Czech Republic and Holland, learned water search (for deceased persons) in Amsterdam, and trained in building searches at a variety of places in Holland. We really learned a lot in training with some European groups and Nash really excelled in the water search training.

I've attached a photo of us in Zatec, Czech Republic when we were out enjoying the sites.

Barry/Cathy:

July, 2009.

I just thought, I would let you know that Sumo has been brought out of retirement. One of our other patrol dogs got an injury to his back leg/hip area and will be on recovery time.

Instead of training a new dog for the summer. I was asked to come back to Canine until at least the end of the year. Sumo is doing great. He's slowed down a little but he will also be 9 years old in September. He's still faster than the bad guys. After 7 months of retirement and not doing too much, he picked pretty much where he left off. We passed the annual certification with a couple of days of training. We started back July 6, and recertified on July 9.

Hope things are good with you.

Talk to you later.   Cpl. Shane Hoedel & PSD Sumo

Sunshadows Bear - working Police Service Dog in Vancouver.

Sgt. Park, K9 Division, "Last year he was involved in 20 apprehensions which means he's working hard.  He and his handler, Ray Wong, recently tracked 6 suspects suspected of hitting a gas station attendant over the head with a 2 X 4 and apprehended all of them in their townhouse.  They also tracked two car thieves through a cemetery and caught them.  In another arrest, they tracked two suspects involved in a burglary of a sporting goods store to a property that turned out to be a marijuana grow op."

Sunshadows Sable - Therapy Dog in Edmonton.

Just a note to let you know about Sable's good works.  We bought her six years ago from the "f" litter.  She was a fat little ball of teeth and attitude and we fell in love with her right away.  The first year was spent doing basic obedience training, plus some shutzhund for fun.  Sable graduated as a registered therapy dog and commenced work at a major Edmonton inner city hospital.  She is a natural for this work and this hospital has perhaps the most challenging patient population in our province.  Her ability to "read" patients, often with dementia or severe behavioral problems was uncanny.  She spent many, many hours as the emotional outlet for literally hundreds of patients.  From children with terminal illnesses to seniors in their last days, she made many lives better.

At the tender age of six, Sable retired this January.  A little girl, eight years old is the proud new "mom" for our girl.  After five solid years on the hospital circuit, Sable deserved nothing more than to live the rest of her long life as the playmate of a wonderful child.  We are eagerly anticipating our next Sunshadows pup in August (fingers crossed.)

I have to thank you on behalf of all of the people we were able to help with Sable.  From helping patients to eat to assisting Alzheimer's patients in treatment, Sable made the lives of so many others so very much better.  She is now making the life of a new family complete.  Your years of persistence in demanding the very best working bloodlines have resulted in a consistently superior shepherd.  I've never had a better friend or coworker.  Please use me as a reference at your convenience.

Good job girl,  we'll miss you.

Sunshadows Hermione (Geri) is the joy of our life, we couldn't be prouder.
This is a picture of Geri and her 'cousin' Casey.  Geri gets along with all animals very well, except cats.  I'm sure it's just the cat's fault.
We highly recommend your obedience training for all dogs.
Thanks again for everything.

Hi!

Kunde is doing incredibly well.  We are so pleased with him.  He's calm and obedient, friendly, and  curious.  He's becoming quite independent and less eager to respond to "come", pushing the limits.  He knows "down", "sit", "heel", "stay", and is learning "gimme five" which is obviously the most important trick.  He wants his mouth on everything and is becoming more aggressive when we play, nipping at out legs and arms.  This is something we have to continue working on.    We truly love him and thank you so much.  I had to attach a photo of him.

Hi Barry and Cathy,

Desensitizing Enzo (I think we're going to call him Barend) to the cats is going to take some time, but we'll continue to work at it.  Everything else is going well.  He seems to be pretty well housebroken and is learning to walk on lead.  He's very affectionate, intelligent with strong drive and he appears comfortable with the strangers we meet on our walks.  My wife fell in love with him the moment she saw him.   It was a pleasure doing business with you, purchasing a pup from such a distance was actually much easier than I expected thanks to your efforts.

About Dayna (Sunshadows Evening Star)

We love her. She's doing well. We couldn't believe what an angel she was when we brought her home. Very calm, loving and well behaved. Well yesterday our little angel turned into the devil. Biting everything and and getting into everything. I had forgot how puppies changed.
Actually she is doing very well. She is a very loving but adventurous puppy. She is very independent and loves to explore. So far she is doing very well with socialization and has adapted to our family easily. The boys were horrified at first that we brought a puppy home but they have recently started to let her join them on their romps and even allow her to jump all over them now. Once they are more social with each other I'll send you pics of her with her 2 new brothers.
She's beautiful and I'm sure she's going to be a handful but we love her already. Thanks for everything.

Here's Jasmine (Sunshadows Charlottre) in our winter, loving every snowflake! She really comes to life in the bitter cold!

Jasmine still goes out twice a week with her buddies on daycare adventures and generally enjoys running through the hayfields and fetching in the ocean. i take her with me everyday on my bike rides and she is a true guard dog everywhere we go!

Jasmine protects our home everyday and night - sometimes too much, like at 3:00 am when a racoon even dares to set foot on our yard she can hear it from her bed inside and, well, I get to wake up too. That's our girl, we love her to bits but, we know she needs her rules, boundaries and limitations too, otherwise Miss Smarty Pants can quickly become our boss!

Good dogs don't happen overnight and we know Jasmine desperately wants to please us, which helps.

Maybe one day when we have more space we may want a buddy for her from you, but don't tell JB. She's our girl and we all love her, thanks so much.

Hi Guys!

Capone (Grace will not allow us to change is name) is settling in excellent. We all love him! You guys did a wonderful job, he listens so well and is always looking to do the right thing. We have had him busy. Doing everything in moderation, but he is already pulling the kids on a cart and I took him and Luther skating together for the first time this AM. Once he knew what I wanted him to do it went perfectly. I am attaching a few photos.

He waits on my every move and word ....  As you can see, he and Grace are best friends.
